Arash Ghabchi

Arash Ghabchi is an experienced engineer and researcher in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as the Director of Core Formulation-Control in Space System Development at Blue Origin since February 2019. Previous roles at Blue Origin include Director-Principal Technologist for Thermal Management Systems, Principal Research Engineer, and Senior Manufacturing R&D Engineer. Prior to joining Blue Origin, Arash Ghabchi worked at Boeing from September 2011 to February 2019, focusing on metallic materials processes, titanium metallurgy, and additive manufacturing as a Metallic Material & Process Engineer, as well as chemical technologies involving inorganic and thermal spray coatings. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at VTT, specializing in tribology and surface science, and a Graduate Student Research Assistant position at Stony Brook University, where work concentrated on thermal spray technology. Arash Ghabchi holds both a PhD and a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Stony Brook University.
