Karen Rasmussen

Karen Rasmussen has extensive experience in the transportation and safety sectors, currently serving on the Member Safety Advisory Board at Aurora and the Member Advisory Board at Bluewire LLC since 2021. As the Executive Director of the Independent Carrier Safety Association since 2020, Rasmussen promotes highway safety for independent carriers and small fleets. Previous roles include Senior Executive Advisor and Chief Executive Officer of PrePass Safety Alliance, where oversight was provided for North America's largest truck pre-clearance program. Additionally, Rasmussen held leadership positions as President & CEO of the AZ Trucking Association, Director of Government Relations at Ryder System, Inc., and Vice President at the CA Trucking Association. Educational achievements include a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, History, and Communications from the University of Central Oklahoma, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Montana, and training at the Institutes for Organizational Management at Stanford University.
