Charles E. Whitehurst

Charles E. Whitehurst is a distinguished research fellow specializing in immunology and respiratory diseases at Boehringer Ingelheim since July 2013, where Charles E. progressed through several leadership roles, including Senior Associate Director and Senior Principal Scientist, focusing on drug concept discovery and inflammation-related research. Prior experience includes serving as Collaboration Lead and Principal Scientist in the oncology department at Merck Research Laboratory, Section Leader at Schering-Plough Research Institute, and senior roles at NeoGenesis Pharmaceuticals overseeing early-stage small molecule drug discovery. Whitehurst's academic foundation includes a PhD in Immunology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a Master’s degree in Zoology from the University of South Florida, supplemented by a post-doctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
