Jeff Schell is currently an advisor at Boomtown Accelerators, but they have also had an impressive career as the CEO of TranS1. Under Jeff's leadership, TranS1 became a cash-flow positive venture for the first time in its 10+ year history. The company also won multiple awards, including being named Denver's "Most Innovative Workplace" by the Denver Post and being nominated for the Colorado Technology Association's "Company of the Year." In addition, Orthopedics This Week awarded TranS1 with the 2017 Spine Technology Award for its in-house development of the Pylon MIS Posterolateral System.

Jeff has drawn upon their expertise as a patent attorney to ensure that TranS1 develops and enforces an impressive portfolio of intellectual property deriving from exceptional innovation in spine surgery. The surgeon-led R&D team associated with TranS1 continues to aggressively innovate and support surgeon concepts, filing over 50 patent applications related to spine surgical techniques and devices under Jeff's direction. TranS1's AxiaLIF procedure remains a critically important technology for many surgeons to help patients with debilitating problems at the L5-S1 junction.
Jeff Schell has a M.S. in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University. Jeff also has a B.Eng and B.S. in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences, Economics from Northwestern University. Jeff is certified by the National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP) and is a registered Patent Attorney with the USPTO.
