Emily Sweeney

Emily Sweeney covers local news and writes the “Blotter Tales” column for the Globe. She’s also a regular contributor to the Names page. A proud native of Dorchester, Sweeney graduated from Northeastern University and played on NU’s championship-winning women’s ice hockey team. She has been on the Globe staff since 2001, and currently serves on the board of directors for the New England First Amendment Coalition (NEFAC) and the New England Society of News Editors (NESNE).
