Brendan Sullivan

Brendan Sullivan serves as the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Services for the Boulder Valley School District, overseeing all safety and security operations across 62 campuses that serve approximately 30,000 students and 4,000 staff. Previously, Brendan spent 18 years at the Broomfield Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant in Special Operations after supervising various teams and managing budgets ranging from $123K to $6.273M. Brendan also held positions as Interim Commander of the Patrol Division, leading over 45 staff members, and as a Police Detective, where responsibilities included the investigation of serious felony crimes. Brendan's early career included serving as a Deputy Sheriff for the Mesa County Sheriff's Department. Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Waldorf University and has completed multiple leadership programs, including those offered by the FBI and Northwestern University.
