Bunmi Obateru

Bunmi has been with the Chiu School of Business since the Winter 2018 semester and in the field of post-secondary education since 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Business Administration from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. At the Chiu School of Business, Bunmi instructs a variety of courses, including Business Mathematics, Corporate Finance, Economics, and Organizational Behaviour.

Prior to her time as an instructor, Bunmi worked in the field of international business development and financing. A notable venture was working through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA); in collaborations between the Peres Centre for Peace (Israel) and the Gaza Industrial Estates (Palestinian Territories). From this experience, she pivoted into the Toronto Financial District as a securities analyst with BMO Nesbitt Burns.

To Bunmi, teaching at the Chiu School of Business is a privilege, and an opportunity to bring learners closer to achieving their career aspirations.
