Fernanda Guizar

Fernanda Guizar is a highly skilled computational biologist with a robust academic and research background. Currently serving as a Scientist at Brightseed since July 2022, Fernanda previously held the position of PhD Candidate and Researcher at the Center for Population Biology, University of California, Davis, from September 2016 to June 2022. During this time, Fernanda utilized high-performance computing to analyze large-scale genomic data and developed computational pipelines for complex plant genome assembly. Fernanda also possesses experience as an R Programming Instructor at the University of California, Davis, and as a Data Science Fellow at Data Science for All, where data scraping and sentiment analysis of social media were conducted. Fernanda's research history includes a Master's project on comparative genomics at CINVESTAV, focused on chili pepper domestication. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Population Biology and a Master's in Integrative Biology from institutions such as the University of California, Davis, and Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN, along with a Bachelor's in Agro-biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
