Matthew McGrath

Matthew McGrath, P.Eng. is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in the electrical distribution sector. Currently serving as the Distribution Engineering Program Lead at BC Hydro since July 2022, Matthew oversees technical guidance and system analysis for primary service connections. Previous roles include various supervisory positions at Hydro Ottawa from September 2008 to June 2022, where responsibilities encompassed work scheduling, distribution design, maintenance and reliability planning, and asset planning, ultimately managing teams and enhancing service execution. Matthew also contributed to education as a part-time professor at Algonquin College, instructing on overhead powerline systems. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lakehead University and a diploma from Algonquin College.
