Shah Arifur Rahman

Shah Arifur Rahman, Ph.D., P.Eng., is an accomplished professional in electric power system engineering with extensive experience in asset management, planning, and engineering roles. Currently serving as the Asset Management Planning and DER Studies Lead at BC Hydro since December 2016, Shah has successfully led various initiatives including Distributed Energy Resource planning, load forecasting, and capital plan preparation. Previous experience includes positions at Amec Foster Wheeler and Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation, where Shah provided technical expertise and project management support for renewable energy integration and power system modeling. Shah's academic background includes a post-doctorate and a Ph.D. in Electric Power System Engineering from Western University, as well as a Master's from Chalmers University of Technology.
