Sundaresh Shankar Ph.D. is a seasoned researcher with a robust background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently serving as Research Scientist II at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard since March 2022, Sundaresh focuses on studying viral mechanisms using Cryo-Electron Microscopy. Previously, Sundaresh held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where research centered on viral replication proteins and their inhibition mechanisms. Sundaresh also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. With a Ph.D. obtained from the University of Montana, research involved characterizing the envelope glycoprotein complex of hemorrhagic-fever arenaviruses and developing innovative protein purification strategies during earlier roles at Biocon. Education includes a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Bangalore University.
