Sean Shanker

Sean Shanker is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in equity trading and financial product management. Currently serving as Managing Director at BTIG since May 2024, Sean previously held the position of Product Lead for Equities Americas at Citi from June 2021 to May 2024. Prior to that, Sean was a Director and Senior Trading Strategist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from July 2015 to June 2021, focusing on principal programs, volatility, arbitrage algorithms, and structured products. Sean's career began at Citi in October 2007 as an Equities Product Manager, where significant contributions included modernizing the Equities Trading platform and enhancing operational efficiencies. Earlier experience includes a role as a Senior Developer at Merrill Lynch, where responsibilities involved developing and supporting a security master database. Educational qualifications include an MBA with a dual degree in Finance and Transnational Management from Fordham Gabelli School of Business, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
