Barbara Merz

Barbara Merz is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in philanthropy, social impact, and leadership development. Currently serving as a Board Member at the Buckminster Fuller Institute since May 2019, Merz previously held the role of Managing Director at Pathfinder International from June 2020 to July 2023 and was Chief at Chief, a network designed for senior women leaders, from August 2021 to August 2022. Merz led a successful $7 billion global campaign at The Nature Conservancy as Director of Global Campaign from October 2014 to April 2020, significantly enhancing land management. Earlier experience includes strategic consultancy for philanthropic organizations and positions at Harvard University and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Merz began their career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company and as a Fulbright Scholar. Educational credentials include a JD in International Law from Stanford University and a BA in Public Policy from Princeton University.
