Anıl Sönmez

Anıl Sönmez is a Computer Vision Engineer currently employed at Buddywise since August 2024. Prior experience includes working as a Computer Vision and AI Engineer at Walaris from January 2019 to August 2024, where research focused on object detection, tracking, classification, and synthetic data generation using GAN and diffusion-based techniques. Anıl also served as an AI Engineer, researching object detection for aerial threats and visual synthetic data generation. Previous roles include a Master Thesis Student at AUDI AG, exploring transfer learning for deep reinforcement learning, and a Research Assistant at Technical University Munich, studying indoor scene classification and semantic segmentation. Anıl holds a Master of Science in Informatics from the Technical University of Munich and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi, complemented by participation in an Erasmus Program at Universitat d'Alacant. Early professional experiences include internships as a Software Engineer at whitebox Strategische Marketingkommunikation and a Software Test Engineer at Turkcell Global Bilgi.
