Lorraine Akiba

Lorraine Akiba is the President and CEO of LHA Ventures, a global consultancy specializing in regulatory policy and technical expertise for various industry sectors. In addition to leading LHA Ventures since 2018, Akiba serves on the Board of Directors for the Interstate Renewable Energy Council and Buildings IOT, leveraging extensive knowledge in renewable energy policy. Previous leadership roles include serving as a Board Member for HMSA, a member of NARUC and EPRI's Advisory Council, and as a Commissioner of the Public Utilities Commission in Hawaii, where notable contributions included developing renewable energy frameworks and overseeing utility regulations. Akiba's legal career includes partnership positions at prominent law firms Cades Schutte LLP and McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon, complemented by a background in labor and industrial relations with the State of Hawaii. Akiba holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
