Mekka Okereke

Mekka Okereke is an experienced technology executive currently serving as General Manager of Apps on Google Play and previously held titles such as Senior Director of Engineering and Director of Engineering at Google. Notable accomplishments include founding the Growth team for Google Play and leading the Commerce Engineering team. Prior to Google, Mekka held multiple roles at Amazon, overseeing Mobile App Developer Services and the Amazon Appstore SDK. Entrepreneurial experience includes ownership of Semaphore Mobile and co-founding Karbon Systems LLC. Mekka has also served as CTO at WolfeTech Corporation, where early wireless data applications were developed. Educational credentials include a BA in Computer Science from Pomona College and attendance at Phillips Academy at Andover. Additionally, Mekka participates as Global Co-Chair of the Black Googler Network, aiming to impact underrepresented groups in technology.
