Ruth Segal is an experienced policy expert specializing in food systems and land advocacy, currently serving as Policy Lead at CAFOD since November 2021. Prior to this role, Ruth contributed to various organizations, including the University of Sussex as a Doctoral Researcher and Research Fellow in the Sussex Sustainability Research Programme, and Oxfam International as Policy Manager and Policy Advisor in food and agriculture. Early career experiences include positions at Rural Reconstruction Nepal as a Co-ordinator and Christian Aid as a Programme Officer and Project Assistant. Ruth holds Master’s Degrees from SPRU - Science Policy Research Unit and the Centre for Food Policy, and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design and Appropriate Technology from the University of Warwick.
