João Urbano Gonçalves

João Urbano Gonçalves currently serves as the Head of Sustainability at Caixa Gestão de Ativos within CAIXA GERAL DE DEPOSITOS, S.A., responsible for the strategic and operational management of sustainability initiatives. Prior to this role, João held the position of Advisor to the Secretary of State for Finance in the XXIII Government of Portugal, focusing on state asset divestitures and managing state financial matters. Previously, João was a Portfolio Manager at CAIXA GERAL DE DEPOSITOS, overseeing European and US equities, driving ESG implementation, and earning accolades such as the Prémio Excelência in 2022. João's career began at BPI, progressing through roles in corporate finance and equity research, with earlier internships at Banco ITAÚ Europa and Estradas de Portugal.
