Ramón Esquivel

Ramón Esquivel is an accomplished Assistant Professor of Theatre with a focus on Playwriting at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo since September 2020. Expertise includes playwriting, dramaturgy, Latinx theatre, directing, and theatre for young audiences. With extensive experience as a published playwright, Ramón has contributed to the Seattle Repertory Theatre's Writers Group and served on the Artistic Advisors Circle for Seattle Children's Theatre, offering strategic leadership. Previous academic roles include Lecturer at Central Washington University and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia. Ramón's educational background includes an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of British Columbia, an MA in Educational Theater from New York University, and a BA in History from Yale University.
