Hugo Frech is an accomplished IT executive with extensive experience in infrastructure, architecture, and information security within the energy sector. Since joining California ISO in November 2002, Hugo has held multiple leadership roles, currently serving as Executive Director of IT Infrastructure, Architecture & Information Security, where responsibilities include ensuring grid reliability and overseeing critical IT services. Previous roles at California ISO include managing teams responsible for systems engineering, database administration, and network operations, with accountability for multi-million-dollar budgets. Prior to California ISO, Hugo worked at Agilent Technologies as a Database Administrator and served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where significant roles included Information Technology Operations Officer and Forward Air Controller. Hugo holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from California State University-San Bernardino and a Master's degree in Telecommunications Systems Management from National University.
