Ben Cady

Trustee at CAMP DUDLEY INC

Ben’s grandfather, #4470 Alfred M. Cady Jr. attended Camp in the 1930s, his father, #8798 Al Cady III, and uncle #8811, Bob Cady, in the 50s. His older brother and cousins attended in the 1980s. After years of stories, visits to the Adirondacks, and legendary Willie Schmidt reunions, Ben attended Dudley for his Cub summer in 1990. While that summer was magical, he did not realize at the time that Camp would have a profound effect on the rest of his life.

Ben continued making the trek from Minneapolis to Westport for his Plebe, Junior, and Senior summers, but unfortunately, his love for playing baseball made it impossible for him to continue. After a five-summer hiatus, he returned to Camp as a first-year leader in 1998. He spent the next six summers as a leader at Dudley, the final four of those as the Junior Division Head. During these years at Camp, he came to make his closest friends and to discover what he was most passionate about.

After graduating from Miami University in Ohio, Ben joined several Dudley alums at the Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, NY, before making the move to Los Angeles. There he spent eight years teaching and coaching at Crossroads School. After LA, he moved to NYC to pursue a Master’s degree in education from Columbia. In between LA and NYC, he met and fell in love with Adam Puncochar. Adam and Ben were married in 2016. Ben lives in Minneapolis where he teaches upper school Social Studies and coaches middle school baseball at the Blake School.
