Charlie Smillie

Charlie Smillie, P.Eng, has extensive experience in the mining sector, currently serving as the Lead for Mine Projects at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since June 2017, following roles as Supervisor for Mine Production Planning and Mine Production Planner. Prior experience includes positions at Shell from August 2013 to May 2017, where Charlie contributed as a Mine Engineer with various responsibilities in the Albian Sands oil sands operations, including Tailings and Project Planner, Waste Planner, 90-Day Shovel Planner, and Mine Blend Specialist. Earlier experience includes a Mine Development Internship at Shell in 2012. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Queen's University, earned between 2009 and 2013.
