Matthew McGovern

Matthew McGovern currently serves as the Global Chief Information Officer at Candescent since July 2024. Prior to this role, McGovern held the position of Senior Vice President of Information Technology at Global Payments Inc., leading IT Infrastructure & Operations for the EVO Payments division following its acquisition. McGovern has extensive experience in various senior IT leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Information Technology at EVO Payments, and Senior Vice President at Truist, where responsibilities spanned operations leadership and infrastructure strategy during a significant merger. Earlier experience includes key roles at SunTrust and HP, where McGovern managed large teams and significant budgets while focusing on IT infrastructure, service management, and operational efficiency. McGovern holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a BA in Psychology from Columbia University.
