Ash Amlani is an engagement specialist with a strong track record of working with communities and stakeholders to advance public policy. She previously served as the West Coast Policy Advisor to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard, supporting efforts to improve environmental protection, marine safety, and reconciliation with BC and Yukon First Nations. Prior to this, Amlani was the Harm Reduction Epidemiologist at the BC Centre for Disease Control, where she led the expansion of the BC Take Home Naloxone program in response to the growing opioid overdose crisis.
With 14 peer-reviewed publications, Amlani weaves together her strong research skills with significant insights from her experiences in government. She is passionate about building healthy, thriving communities and inclusive organizations.
Amlani holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Science (honors) in biotechnology from the University of British Columbia and British Columbia Institute of Technology (joint degree).
