Lorna Contreras-Townsend

Lorna Contreras-Townsend currently serves as the Head of Social Impact within Sustainability and Social Responsibility at Capital Group since December 2022 and is a Consultant with the Employer Brain Trust at Education Design Lab since September 2022. In addition, Lorna is a member of the Board of Directors at The Practice Space, contributing since September 2021. Previously, Lorna held senior managerial roles at Gap Inc. from November 2020 to December 2022, focusing on external partnerships and community belonging efforts aimed at promoting career access for youth and underserved communities. Lorna was the Senior Director of Program Strategy at Students Rising Above from June 2010 to November 2020, where a commitment to empowering low-income, first-generation college students was central. Earlier experience includes roles in staffing and recruitment at AppleOne. Lorna holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from The Wright Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with a minor in Spanish from Saint Mary's College of California.
