Carl Kingsford

Carl Kingsford is the Herbert A. Simon Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, a position held since September 2012, where Carl has also served as a Professor and Associate Professor. In addition to academic roles, Carl Kingsford co-founded and serves as CEO of Ocean Genomics, Inc. since January 2019. Previously, Carl Kingsford was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland from 2007 to August 2012. Carl Kingsford earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Princeton University between 2000 and 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Duke University, completed in 2000.
