Jonathan David Reyes Ortiz is a doctoral student at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Materials Engineering. With extensive experience in both academia and industry, Jonathan has held roles such as Partnerships Private Sector Officer at Shaping Horizons, where contributions included organizing a bilateral summit on innovation and policy. In academia, Jonathan served as a lecturer and programme director at ESPOL, teaching a range of materials engineering courses. Jonathan co-founded and directed 3DAWA, a startup focusing on circular economy principles in additive manufacturing, recognized by the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurship Hatchery. Additional experience includes positions at Tesla as a materials engineer research assistant, where recognition was received as the ‘Top Summer Intern of 2017,’ and at the University of Toronto as a teaching assistant, enhancing student engagement and success.
