Nelson Schwab III co-founded Carousel Capital. Previously, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Parks, a leading developer and operator of regional theme parks. Prior to that, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kings Entertainment Company and Executive Vice President of Cincinnati-based Taft Broadcasting Company’s Attractions Group. While at Taft, Mr. Schwab led a group of senior Taft executives in forming Kings Entertainment Company to acquire Taft’s theme parks in a leveraged buyout transaction.
Mr. Schwab previously served on the board of Caldwell and Gregory, Southeastern Automotive Aftermarket Service Holdings, Mergent and Transflo. Separate from Carousel, he serves as a director of Flagship Healthcare Properties and Messer Corporation and formerly served as a director of Herschend Family Entertainment. He is past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, the Charlotte Chamber, the Carolinas Partnership and the North Carolina Outward Bound School.
Mr. Schwab received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
