Maysan Haydar

Assistant Professor, Department Of History at Case Western Reserve University

Maysan Haydar currently serves as a Carl & Lily Pforzheimer Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Case Western Reserve University since 2022. Previous roles include Conference Organizer at The Ohio State University, where Maysan coordinated multiple annual meetings for the Society for Military History and a symposium for the National World War I Centennial Commission, and Lecturer, teaching a range of history courses. Maysan's academic experience also encompasses teaching at Oberlin College, advising first-generation and international students, and extensive consulting for nonprofits and individuals on media strategies and publication. With a solid editorial background, Maysan has served as an editor for a mental health journal at the University of Michigan and held advisory roles at various publications. Maysan holds a PhD and MA in History from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
