Tziona Szajman is an experienced chaplain currently serving at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca since October 2015, providing spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. Previously, Tziona held the position of Chaplain and High Holiday Service Leader at Hillel at Ithaca College from October 2016 to July 2020, where study sessions and holiday services were developed to connect social issues with Jewish texts. Tziona also served as Rabbi at Temple Israel from July 2007 to October 2015, fostering lay leadership and guiding various aspects of synagogue life, as well as taking on the role of Visiting Lecturer at Binghamton University for an undergraduate course in modern midrash in 2011. Early experience includes serving as Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Rodeph Sholom from 2004 to 2007, with notable achievements in community engagement. Tziona's educational background includes a Master’s in Jewish Education and Rabbinic Ordination from The Jewish Theological Seminary, alongside studies at McGill University, Binghamton University, and New York University. Additionally, Tziona completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education training from 2016 to 2019.
