Karina González-Ríos, MPH, currently serves as a Senior Epidemiologist at the CDC Foundation, beginning in October 2021, where responsibilities include data collection and analysis for the New Jersey Department of Health, focusing on COVID-19 metrics and optimizing data accuracy with advanced tools. Prior to this role, Karina worked as an Epidemiologist at the Puerto Rico Department of Health from December 2016 to October 2021, leading efforts to enhance influenza surveillance systems and integrate reporting into the National Electronics Disease Surveillance System. Karina's expertise also encompasses antimicrobial resistance, having played a crucial role in implementing a statewide Antibiotic Stewardship Program in acute-care hospitals. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Epidemiology from Ponce Health Sciences University and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico-Ponce.
