Ryan Claffey

Ryan Claffey is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in defense policy and international security. Currently a Research Assistant at the Center for a New American Security, Ryan previously served as a Defense Policy Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives, focusing on Indo-Pacific security issues. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in History and East Asian Studies from Columbia University. Prior roles encompassed internships with Asia Society, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and Joint Task Force North, as well as various leadership positions in political campaigns and activism, demonstrating a strong commitment to both policy analysis and civic engagement.
