Brett Williams

Brett Williams is a seasoned expert in electric vehicle programs with significant experience at the Center for Sustainable Energy since August 2014, currently serving as Senior Principal Advisor for EV Programs. In this role, Brett directs and advises on program transparency, equity, evaluation, and research for six statewide EV rebate programs, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and stakeholder engagement. Prior roles include Senior Project Manager for Plug-In & Fuel-Cell Electric Vehicle Initiatives, Program Director for EVs & Alternative Fuels at the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation, and Senior Researcher at UC Berkeley. Brett also worked as a Vehicle & Fuels Analyst at Ford Motor Company during doctoral studies and was a Senior Research Associate at the Rocky Mountain Institute. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Transportation Technology & Policy and multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge and Pomona College.
