Adelina Urbanski

Adelina Urbanski has spent her career collaborating to building healthier, more inclusive and resilient communities. She is an experienced senior executive with the ability to develop a compelling vision leading to service excellence.

Ms. Urbanski has served in municipal government for over 30 years, having served almost 18 years as the Commissioner in Halton and York Regions. A strong mentor and leader, she has received recognition and awards for her work, such as the Ontario Municipal Social Services Lifetime Achievement Award, the Comprehensive Housing Strategy, the Truth About Youth Study, and the Emergency Housing Project.

She has been on the boards of a series of organizations, such as the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the Housing Services Corporation, TransForm, and the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association. She has also provided consultative advice to various provincial task forces and working groups hosted by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, such as the Provincial Fiscal and Service Delivery Review, the Social Assistance Task Force, and the Housing Partnership Table. As the recently retired Commissioner of Community and Health Services for York Region, she played a lead role in the Human Services Planning Board, the Seniors Strategy, and the Immigration Settlement Strategy.

Ms. Urbanski holds a bachelor's degree in public administration, a certificate in municipal administration, and holds a Chartered Director’s designation from the Director’s College, a joint initiative of the McMaster DeGroote School of Business and the Conference Board of Canada.
