Meike The is a professional with a background in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and Science Communication from Leiden University, holding Master's degrees in both fields. Currently employed as a Call Agent Recruitment at the Centre for Human Drug Research since April 2023, Meike has previous experience as an intern at de Volkskrant's scientific editorial office and completed a research internship focused on COVID-19 communication through cartoons under the supervision of Professor Ionica Smeets. Additional roles include student assistant positions at Leiden University, supporting courses in popular scientific writing and practical bio-pharmacy. Meike has also gained research experience in the BioTherapeutics division at Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, where optimization of microfluidics methods was a key project.
