Karen Banaa

Project Associate, Digital Conflict at Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD)

Karen Banaa is a skilled professional with extensive experience in communications and conflict mediation. Currently serving as a Project Associate focused on social media and conflict mediation at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue since November 2020, Banaa has previously worked as a Communications Assistant and Intern at the International Institute for Strategic Studies from February 2019 to October 2020. Additionally, Banaa held the position of Communications Manager at Stichting Unity In Diversity from February 2018 to August 2018 and worked as an Events & Project Assistant at Imparture Training from September 2016 to July 2017. Banaa's early experience includes an internship with the FAO in July 2014. Academically, Banaa earned a Master’s degree in International Relations: Global Conflict in the Modern Era from Leiden University between 2017 and 2020, and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham from 2013 to 2016.
