Mark Gibson

Mark is a Non-Executive Director of CPI and Chair of the Remuneration Committee. After an early career in the Civil Service, Mark became a Director General in the Department of Trade and Industry in 2000, with responsibility for enterprise and innovation. Between 2002 and 2008, he was in charge of the Department’s Business Group. While at the Department he was a member of the Department’s Board and Audit Committee and the Technology Strategy Board (now Innovate UK) in its early years. Between 2009 and 2015 he was the Chief Executive of the Whitehall and Industry Group (WIG), a charity dedicated to improving understanding between the public and private sectors. All Government departments are members, as well as about 100 companies across industry.
