Benjamin Igbodo

Benjamin Igbodo is an experienced researcher currently employed as an EMQAL Researcher at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) since January 2022, focusing on chronic inflammatory diseases through cell culture and the application of MTS assays. Responsibilities include building human monocytic leukemia models, inducing cell differentiation and inflammation for research, and drug development. Previous positions include a Cancer Research Assistant at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Assistant Laboratory Analyst at Merck & Co. Inc, where Benjamin handled drug viability testing and patient drug regimen coordination. Benjamin holds an Erasmus Mundus+ Master’s degree in Quality in Analytical Laboratories from the University of Bergen and has additional qualifications in laboratory animal handling from the University of Lisbon, a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Northumbria University, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from Delta State University in Nigeria.
