Kalina T. Zlateva is a principal scientist currently employed at Cerba Research since May 2023, specializing in molecular diagnostics. Previously, Kalina served as a senior scientist at Viroclinics-DDL from October 2014 to April 2023, leading the development and validation of various molecular diagnostic tests for clinical trials. Kalina's early career included a postdoctoral research position at Leiden University Medical Center, focusing on rhinovirus infections, and another postdoctoral role in developing RT-PCR methods for novel crown viruses. Kalina obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences from KU Leuven, where research centered on the molecular epidemiology of respiratory syncytial viruses. Additional experience includes being a research assistant at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, investigating antiviral effects of new compounds. Kalina holds a master’s degree in molecular biology from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
