Kamran Naim

Head Of Open Science at CERN

Kamran Naim, PhD, currently serves as a Non Executive Director for the Biochemical Society and a Board Member for BioOne, while holding the position of Head of Open Science and Deputy Group Leader of the CERN Scientific Information Service since November 2019. At CERN, Kamran Naim has led the development of the institution's first Open Science policy and governance framework, managed large-scale international collaborations, and contributed to global Open Science efforts alongside organizations such as UNESCO and NASA. Previously, Kamran Naim served as a Strategic Partnerships Advisor for TeachAids, as Director of Partnerships & Initiatives at Annual Reviews, and as Program Lead for GLORIAD. Academic accomplishments include a PhD from Stanford University, focusing on education and technology design, alongside a Master’s degree from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bristol.
