André Pieterse

André Francois Pieterse is an expert with about 28 years of experience in the finance and investment industry including Investment Banking and Corporate Advisory. He also has significant international transactional and finance experience in debt markets, traditional Private Equity and Infrastructure Equity.

During his career, André Pieterse occupied a number of senior management positions gaining experience in all aspects of debt and equity both in South Africa and internationally executing transactions (debt and equity) in excess of R 25.00 billion in a number of sectors such as inter alia Energy, Transport, Telecommunications, Manufacturing and Facilities Management.

André Francois Pieterse is currently the Managing Director of Everstrong Capital Pty Limited, a member of Everstrong Capital LLC. Everstrong Capital focuses on the provision of equity capital in infrastructure assets in the Energy, Transport and Telecommunications sectors in sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining Everstrong, André was under contract to the IPP office of the Department of Energy responsible for the launch of the Coal Baseload IPP Programme. He is also a former director of the South African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.

As Managing Director and Head of Private Equity at Absa Capital part of Barclays Capital, André was responsible for building the Business to a significant contributor to the Absa Capital bottom line. He steered the business from a loss making relatively small entity to a business that had in excess of R8.00 billion under management with a cohesive and strong team.

André served as a member of the Investment Committee, the Fund Board of Trustees and as a non-executive director on the boards of portfolio businesses.

Prior to joining Absa Capital, he was head of Structured Finance and Debt Origination at Nedbank Capital (Nedcor Investment Bank).

Andre holds a Bachelor of Commerce Accounting (with distinction) and a Bachelor in Accounting with honours from the North West University.

He is a Fellow of the CGIA (FGIA®).
