Abrar Alkusaimi, APR, MLIS, is a dedicated librarian with extensive experience in youth programming and library services. Currently serving at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library since April 2022, Abrar focuses on creating and organizing teen-centered initiatives in the Mountain Island area, addressing topics such as college and career readiness, financial literacy, and STEAM. Previous roles include librarian positions at Los Angeles Public Library and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, where Abrar collaborated on teen programs and events. Additional experience includes providing reference assistance at Central Piedmont Community College and contributing to academic services at Intellicor International Academy. Abrar holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies & Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
