Christopher Shelton Jr.

Christopher Shelton Jr. is an experienced education professional currently serving in the Black Student Success Working Group at Chicago Public Schools since June 2019, where project management and facilitation involve collaboration among students, educators, and community partners to support Black student success. Previous roles include School Principal and Assistant Principal at Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy High School, as well as Resident Principal for Parkside Academy and Thomas Hoyne Elementary under New Leaders from August 2018 to June 2019. Christopher's earlier experience at Chicago Public Schools as Science Department Chair and Teacher at Harlan Community Academy High School spanned from August 2013 to August 2018. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences and a Master in the Art of Teaching from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where Christopher also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2011 to August 2013.
