Michael Haggerty

Michael Haggerty currently serves as a Tribal Prosecutor and Chief of the Criminal Division for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma since May 2022. Haggerty has extensive involvement in Scouting, holding positions such as Chapter Advisor for the Chickasaw Chapter of the Wisawanik Lodge and Scoutmaster for Troop 10 in the Arbuckle Area Council. Additionally, Haggerty has contributed as a Freelance Writer for the Madill Record since September 2018, served as Treasurer for the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association Inc. from May 2017 to May 2022, and practiced law at Haggerty Law Office, PLLC from September 1996 to May 2022. Haggerty also held the position of President for the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association from November 2012 to November 2014. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the same institution.
