Faisal Zaman

Faisal Zaman is an experienced professional in the field of network planning and software solutions, currently serving as a Submarine Software Solutions Specialist at Ciena since June 2017. In this role, Faisal provides guidance on automation for submarine networks and offers insights on CAPEX and OPEX savings through software automation. Formerly, Faisal held positions as a Senior Network Planner and Design Engineer, contributing to network architecture evolution and performing risk assessments, as well as working as a Network Planner and Design Engineer focused on proposal responses and network analysis. Prior experience includes a research assistantship at the University of Ottawa, where Faisal developed a model for resource allocation in edge cloud networks, and a role as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions, working on an OCR engine for banking applications. Faisal's educational background includes ongoing PhD studies in Computer Science at Université de Montréal, a Master's degree in Applied Science from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Technology from R. V. College of Engineering in Bangalore.
