William Wang

William Wang is a seasoned Quantitative Developer at Citadel since October 2024, previously serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Shopify from August 2019 to September 2024. At Shopify, William contributed to the financial services team, developing data and machine learning models that supported multi-billion dollar products and earned recognition as a top performer. William's experience includes launching significant products such as Shop Pay Installments and creating a comprehensive data platform. Prior roles include Machine Learning Researcher at Western University, where deep learning techniques were employed for tree-fall pattern detection, and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Carleton University. William has also served as Regional Director for iLEAP Club Inc., leading youth clubs and developing an eLearning platform, and worked as a Research Assistant at Ottawa University in ultrafast nanophotonics. William holds an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Carleton University.
