Susan Gwiasda

Susan Gwiasda has extensive experience in public relations and journalism, currently serving as the Public Relations Officer for the City of Ames since October 2004. Prior to this role, Susan held the position of Public Information Officer for the City of Dubuque from September 1999 to October 2004, where responsibilities included media relations and event planning. Earlier in the career, Susan worked as a Senior Reporter for the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque from September 1993 to September 1999, covering a range of topics including health and business. Susan's journalism journey began as a Reporter at The Messenger in Fort Dodge from 1988 to 1990. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Drake University, a Master of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications from Iowa State University, graduate studies in Communications at the University of Glasgow, and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
