Dakshin Gunawardana

Dakshin Gunawardana is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) with extensive experience in financial management and operations. Currently serving as the Assistant Manager of Budgets & Administration at the City of Burnaby since April 2021, Dakshin previously held key roles at TransLink, where responsibilities included Senior Enterprise ERP Budget & Planning Lead and Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A. Notable accomplishments include successful negotiations with major corporations such as Amazon and Lowes Canada that resulted in significant cost savings, and establishing an international representative office in China. Dakshin has also driven operational efficiencies, such as reducing delinquent Accounts Receivable significantly and completing impactful ERP implementations. Educational qualifications encompass a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and completion of the Controllership Program Certificate from CPA Canada.
