Darseen Pooni

Darseen Pooni has extensive experience in environmental management and regulatory compliance, serving as a Climate Action and Energy Officer and Environmental Services Officer at the City of Burnaby since March 2002. Responsibilities include developing and implementing environmental programs related to air quality, drinking water, waste reduction, and noise, as well as revising and enforcing environmental policies and bylaws. Previously, Darseen held the position of Property Use Coordinator, focusing on compliance with property use and licensing regulations. Additionally, Darseen worked with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit as an Intelligence Monitor, contributing to a high-profile criminal case and receiving a commendation for tracking a drug trafficker. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Environmental Practice from Royal Roads University, certificates in Forensic Science from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University.
