Abie Bonevac

Associate Planner at City of Charlotte

Abie Bonevac, CZO, currently serves as an Associate Planner for the City of Charlotte since November 2023. Previously, Abie held the role of Associate Planner with the City of Wilmington, NC from November 2020 to November 2023, and worked as a Current Planner I for Pender County Government from May 2019 to November 2020. Academic experience includes positions as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, College of Arts and Sciences Representative, and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Appalachian State University from January 2017 to May 2019. In addition, Abie served as the Planning Commissioner Vice Chair and Student Representative for the Planning Commission in the Town of Boone between July 2017 and June 2018. Early experience in planning includes an internship with the Town of Black Mountain in 2016 and a virtual internship with the Peace Corps as a Humanitarian Mapper. Abie holds a Master's Degree with Thesis in Geography and dual bachelor's degrees in Geography with a focus on Geographic Information Systems and Community and Regional Planning from Appalachian State University.
